Flag lowered in honour of Chief Andy Thomas

The university flag is lowered today, April 12, in honour of Chief Andy Thomas, who passed away on April 7, 2018.
A Hereditary Chief with the Esquimalt Nation (Xwsepum), Chief Andy Thomas was an incredible friend of the University of Victoria and widely admired in the community. His guidance and leadership were vital to UVic over the years, and he worked closely with many people across the university.
