2014 QS subject rankings highlight UVic’s international reputation

UVic ranks among the top 200 institutions worldwide in six key academic fields, according to the 2014 QS World University Rankings by Subject released on Feb. 26. In addition to the six highlighted subject areas, the QS rankings also suggest that UVic’s rising international reputation stems from extraordinary programs across the institution. The department of English language and literature ranked in the top 100. In total, UVic was ranked as having world-class performance in 22 of the 30 subject areas QS considers.

“We are pleased that the calibre of our research-enriched learning environment here at the University of Victoria continues to receive international recognition,” said UVic President Jamie Cassels. “It highlights the exceptional scholarship that helps make UVic a world-class university. Congratulations to our colleagues who make this such a dynamic place to work and study.”

UVic scholarship and research in English language and literature, psychology, earth and marine sciences, geography, physics and astronomy, and law made the QS top 200 list.
