Medical Insurance, Immigration & Arrival

Visa: If you require a student visa you can apply for your visa from three months before your course start date. The university of York can also provide support with your application, see Immigration for more information on this process.

Healthcare: You will need to pay an immigration health surcharge if you require a student visa. This entitles you to receive free health services from the National Health Service (NHS). On arrival at York you can register with doctor/GP at Unity Health, next to campus. If you require medical treatment in the UK, a full up-to-date vaccination record (in English, if possible) will help you get the best care possible.
