  • The university is located 2 miles from the centre of the historic city of Stirling in central Scotland, less than an hour's drive to the larger cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow.
  • The university is in an area of natural beauty that stands at the crossroads of Scotland, both geographically and historically. Stirling is known as the ‘Gateway to the Highlands’, and nearby are the world famous Trossach Mountains and Loch Lomond.
  • Exchange students have full access to all university facilities, including a newly modernized library, the Robbins Student Centre, the MacRobert Arts Centre (cinema and theatre), Pathfoot Art Collection, shops, restaurants and a bank.  The University of Stirling is also designated as Scotland’s University for Sporting Excellence, and exchange students can join the Sports Union to access the university’s wide range of excellent sporting facilities.

Students may register at Stirling for part-time studies, taking a minimum of 40 Stirling credits per semester (Most classes are 20 credits).

Housing

  • Exchange students have the choice of two or three on campus and one off campus residence each year. Students apply for accommodation online and instructions on how to do this will be sent to students after they have been admitted. The University of Stirling is unable to guarantee on campus housing for exchange students, but students who apply by the published deadline will normally receive their preferred housing assignment.
