Language of instruction: Korean. Most courses are taught in Korean, however, a variety of courses offered in English will be available one or two months prior to each semester. The list will be sent to accepted exchange students via email.

Highlights

PKNU campus
  • 26000 Students, over 500 faculty
  • Two campuses: Daeyeon Dong and Yong Dong situated near coastal district of Nam-gu
  • Three large libraries (two are in Daeyeon Dong and one is in Yong Dong campus). The old library is open to students 24 hours a day.
  • A network of shuttle buses runs every 15 minutes. The two campuses are separated by about 4 km distance. The bus takes 10–15 minutes and is free for students.
  • PKNU Student Buddy Program: a student buddy will help exchange students adjust to a new life at PKNU. The PKNU buddy will contact exchange students via email prior to their arrival in Korea.
  • If students would like to take Korean language classes, the Korean Language Program is available during the semester at a discounted price.

Housing

  • All exchange students are automatically assigned to a shared room on campus dormitories The dormitory fee for one semester is around KRW 1600000, which includes three meals per day at the cafeteria.

Medical Insurance, Immigration & Arrival

 If you are accepted for study at PKNU, you need to apply for a student visa (D-2).According to Korean Immigration Law, citizens of countries other than Korea must have a student visa.

In order to get your student visa (D-2), you have to submit the documents required by the embassy, such as the Certificate of Admission from PKNU and a certified financial sponsorship letter, etc. You can find more information on Visa applications at the Embassy to the Republic of Korea in Vancouver.

When arriving in Korea you will also need to register your stay at the local immigration office.
