A $5,000 scholarship to help you make a difference

Making a vital impact is a pillar of the UVic experience. The CAD $5,000 ME to WE Scholarship can help bring you to the University of Victoria where you can continue making meaningful change in the world.

UVic Me to We

Am I eligible for this scholarship?

To be eligible for the ME to WE Scholarship, you must

  • be a US citizen or hold Canadian-American dual citizenship
  • have applied to UVic directly from a high school located in Washington State and begin courses in September 2019
  • have a minimum 3.2/4.0 admission grade point average
  • demonstrate your community involvement and leadership, either locally or globally.

How to apply for the ME to WE Scholarship

  1. Sign into your UVic My page using your NetLink ID.
  2. If you are not yet admitted to UVic, select Applicant Services. If you have been admitted, select Student Services.
  3. Select Apply for Awards (scholarships and bursaries) and work study.
  4. Select the Aid year and Period.
  5. Select ME to WE Scholarship.
  6. Send a statement outlining your community and leadership work and a letter of reference from someone who is familiar with your community and leadership work to entrance@uvic.ca  by May 1. Please include your UVic ID, name and ME to WE Scholarship in the subject line.

Can I get involved in the Me to WE club at UVic?

Yes! The UVic ME to WE Club is very active on our campus. Meetings are held bi-weekly in the Welcome Centre. The team of student volunteers work to organize and run Free the Children's fundraisers, awareness campaigns, and community initiatives throughout the year. Their goal is to support developing countries through Free the Children’s Adopt a Village program, while raising awareness of educational, economic development, and social justice issues around the world.
