UVic Global Engagement Strategy

UVic is committed to becoming a truly global university

A connected and collaborative approach

The Global Engagement Strategy highlights the priorities for the next 5 years (2023-2028) to help transform the University of Victoria into a truly global institution. The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) will work across and with the university's portfolios to ensure that its expertise and initiatives support and facilitate the global activities, projects, and aspirations of units across campus, and complement the global facets of the existing plans:

Three key dimensions of focus

In essence, the Global Engagement Strategy involves building on our strengths to partner with a select set of institutions to advance specific collaborative initiatives, enhance our global presence and reputation, and make UVic's unique offerings more accessible in key geographic areas. In the interest of clarity and focus, the strategy is structured around three key dimensions:

a) Modes of global engagement    b) Disciplines/areas for global engagement    c) Regions for global engagement

The key initiatives that stem from this focused approach will play a central role in shaping the global identity and impact of the University.

We believe that truly 'seeing' and listening to one another, sharing ideas and insights, tapping into our collective experiences and expertise, celebrating our diversity, and supporting one another are crucial aspects of becoming a global and inclusive university. With this in mind, we invite all members of the UVic community to connect with the Office of Global Engagement - we look forward to working with you to support your global aspirations and initiatives.
