Tadao Miyamoto has a BA in Sociology from St. Andrew's (Momoyama Gakuin) University in Osaka. All his degrees in Linguistics are from the University of Victoria: a second BA, an MA in Acoustic Phonetics, and a PhD in Syntax (the dissertation is available from John Benjamins). He has also collaborated with Joseph Kess on a Japanese psycholinguistics project.

Dr. Miyamoto is now a Professor in the Graduate School of International Cultural Studies at Tohoku University in Japan. He is also a member of the COE project on Language, Brain, and Cognition (English site/Japanese site).
