We the West basketball festival organizers invited local artists to reflect the spirit of Olympic qualifiers event through a court mural project, a meeting of sports and art. UVic alum Emily Thiessen’s mural design is a hawk taking flight while honouring the beauty of lək̓ʷəŋən and W̱SÁNEĆ territories.
