Lambert Joseph Schill Award

Lambert Joseph Schill was born on July 26, 1919 on the family homestead 12 miles outside Burstall, SK. Other than hard work on the farm, day after day, he had to subsist through the Dirty Thirties (Great Depression) in his teens and survive military service during WWII in his early twenties. After the war he returned to the farm, taking courses such as mechanics, welding and agricultural management at the Saskatoon School of Technology to improve operation on the farm. At age 40, he moved to Medicine Hat, AB to work for the city electrical department until his retirement. He passed away in 2010 at the age of 90, leaving behind his wife of 66 years and two sons.
