Gwyn Morgan "Be An Engineer" Bursary

The Gwyn Morgan and Patricia Trottier Foundation was founded by Gwyn Morgan and his wife Patricia Trottier in Calgary, AB.

Gwyn Morgan rose from his modest roots on an Alberta farm to become one of Canada's foremost business leaders and ardent champion of the importance of Canadian ­headquartered international enterprises. Gwyn has served on the board of directors of five global corporations. He serves as a trustee of the Fraser Institute, the Manning Centre for Building Democracy and the Dalai Lama Center for Peace and Education.

He devoted three decades to building EnCana Corp. into Canada's largest energy company. When he stepped down as founding CEO at the end of 2005, EnCana was Canada's most valuable company with a stock market value of approximately $60 billion. Gwyn has been recognized as Canada's Outstanding CEO of the Year and also as Canada's Most Respected CEO. He has been inducted as a Member of The Order of Canada.

Patricia Trottier is a community leader and former investor relations/corporate communications executive. Over the past decade, Patricia has dedicated her time to a variety of wellness, social and business causes including founding the Integrative Health Institute in Calgary, Fundacion Nan Paz in Ecuador, chairing Calgary's Economic Development Authority and leading Calgary's 2010 Winter Olympic bid. She currently manages the Gwyn Morgan and Patricia Trottier Foundation.

Gwyn and his wife Patricia Trottier now live on Vancouver Island where he was honoured as the University of Victoria's Distinguished Entrepreneur of the Year in 2006. A lover of the great outdoors and a wellness enthusiast, he and his wife are advocates of holistic medicine and taking personal responsibility for our health.
