Sandy Ibrahim is a multicultural, multi-genre writer entering her first year as a Writing MFA student at the University of Victoria. Her piece, “Preparing the Eulogy” was shortlisted for The Malahat Review’s Constance Rooke’s Prize in CNF in 2022. She will be a panel member at the 2023 Victoria Festival of Authors discussing the challenges of writing about family, friends and/or colleagues at the event, “Write What Who You Know.” Her work often explores themes of cultural and climate collapse and the quandary of modernity. She writes personally from the point of view of a settler/immigrant woman and mother navigating life in the Anthropocene. Her work has been featured in The Malahat Review, Dark Matter: Women Witnessing, Watch Your Head, Rebelle Society, and Quagmire Magazine. Since 2018, she has run an international writing workshop called Writing in the Liminal.
