BFA in Theatre, Self-directed (2001)

In 2013, Nathan was appointed as the Managing Director of the National Arts Centre’s English Theatre in Ottawa.  He previously was the Managing Producer of the nationally recognized Electric Company Theatre in Vancouver where he helped the operation grow to become one of the largest touring theatre companies in Western Canada.  In Vancouver, he also co-founded the Progress Lab 1422, a multi-tenant production centre in East Vancouver, which is now the home to the Electric Company.

He began his career as the Front of House Manager at the Belfry Theatre. He later became the Development and Operations Manger of Intrepid Theatre—producers of the Victoria Fringe Festival and the Uno Festival of Solo Performance. While at Intrepid, he helped to create the 200-seat Metro Studio Theatre in downtown Victoria, one of the busiest live venues on Vancouver Island for independent dance, theatre, and music.

As a freelance planning consultant, Nathan has assisted arts organizations such as the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival, Touchstone Theatre, and Urban Ink Productions. He has also served as theatre program coordinator with the BC Arts Council, where he analyzed arts policy and managed the Province of BC's funding programs related to theatre and festival production.
