Julie Labagnara
Dr. Julie Labagnara received a BA in Theatre – Writing for the Performing Arts from the University of California, Riverside, an MA in Applied Theatre from the University of Victoria and a PhD in Theatre from the University of Hawai’i Mānoa. She has taught theatre at the University of California, Riverside and the University of Hawai’i as well as guest lecturing in various Film Adaptation, Women’s Studies, and American Ethnic and Race Relations courses.
She has worked professionally as an actor, stage and film director, and theatre practitioner for 35 years. Her current research and creative work is focused on the development and implementation of a contemporary Living Newspaper template that could be utilized by individuals without theatre creation experience such as community activists and educators.
