Carolyn Choo is a Properties Artisan with over 15 years of experience across Canada. As Properties Coordinator, Carolyn is responsible for all properties related aspects for the Department of Theatre and Phoenix Theatre productions. Outside her role at UVic, she is the Faculty Head of Props for the Props Builder Practicum Program at Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
Prior to joining UVic, Carolyn has shared her props knowledge as guest speaker with the Performance Production Program at the Toronto Metropolitan University and held the Properties Master position at the University of Calgary. Carolyn's professional work has appeared on national and international stages through companies such as the Canadian Opera Company, Shaw Festival, and Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity.
Carolyn holds a BFA Honours in Technical Production with Toronto Metropolitan University, specializing in scenic and wardrobe construction.
When she is not reorganizing the prop shop, you can find Carolyn hiking with her 70lb lap dog.
