Megan Newton specialized in production management and design at the UVic Theatre Department, before graduating in 2005. By 2007, she had become Operations Manager for Victoria’s Intrepid Theatre. Along with managing the daily operations of the Metro Studio and Intrepid Theatre Club and being an instrumental force behind the successful annual operation of the Victoria Fringe Festival, she was also a creator of their YOU Show program and the annual Monobrow Solo Slam, and set designer for plays like Influence and The Josephine Knot, which was included in the Phoenix Spotlight on Alumni, and also featured her costume designs.

Sadly, Megan Newton passed away from cancer in June of 2012. She was a passionate professional and a caring friend, and she will be missed dearly.

Megan’s friends and family have created the Megan Newton Memorial Fund, in association with the Victoria Foundation, to support students wishing to pursue careers in theatre.
