Sara Topham (BFA ’98) has performed with the Stratford Shakespeare Festival for twelve seasons, notably playing Gwendolyn Bracknell in their 2009 production of The Importance of Being Earnest; in 2011, this production was re-mounted on Broadway with Sara reprising her role. The revival received rave reviews and went on to be nominated for three Tony Awards, winning one (for Best Costumes). She spoke to the Times Colonist about her debut.

Her other Stratford credits include productions of Peter Pan, Dangerous Liaisons, Fuente Ovejuna, King Lear, An Ideal Husband, The Merchant of Venice, The Glass Menagerie, London Assurance, As You Like it, Noises Off, Henry VIII, Agamemnon, The Swanne 2, All's Well That Ends Well, Henry IV, and Henry V. She also played the Governess in The Turn of the Screw at the Belfry Theatre in Victoria, and appeared in the TV movies Dying to Dance and Disney's Eloise at Christmastime.

In 2012, Sara will be seen in the Stratford Shakespeare Festival's productions of Twelfth Night (as Olivia) and The Misanthrope (as Célimène).
