Peter Outerbridge (BFA ’88) graduated from the University of Victoria and spent the next four years touring Canada with the fringe troupe Way Off Broadway. During this time, he also began acting on television, making guest appearances on series such as 21 Jump Street, The Hidden Room and The Commish between 1990 and 1991.

His feature film debut came in 1992 with Hate Mail. Since then, he has been regularly seen in such features as Cool Runnings, Kissed (for which he received a Genie Award nomination for Best Actor in a Leading Role), Better than Chocolate, Mission to Mars, Marine Life (for which he received his second Genie Award nomination, in the same category), Men With Brooms, Cold Creek Manor, Land of the Dead, Lucky Number Slevin and Saw VI.

Peter continues to be prolific in television, appearing in dozens of TV films and series in guest appearances, recurring roles, and lead roles. He received two Gemini Award nominations for his guest appearances on The Outer Limits and This is Wonderland, and a Gemini Award nomination for his leading role in the TV film Chasing Cain: Face.

In 2004, Peter was cast in the lead role of David Sandström in the Canadian TV series ReGenesis. The series ran for four seasons and was nominated for the Gemini Award for Best Dramatic Series three times, with Peter nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor all four years the show was on the air.

Peter has most recently appeared in seven episodes of the CW television series Nikita, and as George Brown in the CBC TV film John A.: Birth of a Country. He will be seen next starring in the Global TV miniseries Bomb Girls.
