Alison Mathews

In her more than twenty years of professional acting, Alison Matthews (BFA’91) has extensive film, television and stage experience, and works regularly as a professional voice-over artist and coach. Her numerous film and television credits include recurring roles on such acclaimed series as Gracepoint, Beggars & Choosers and Battlestar Galactica, as well as featured roles in films such as Disney's Snowdogs (2002), Final Destination 2 (2003), and more. She has stage credits with major Canadian theatre companies — the Vancouver Playhouse, Victoria’s Belfry Theatre, among others — and has also worked as a professional voiceover artist for over two decades.

Currently, she is the Head of Coaching for the Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival while also working as a voice and text instructor at both the Citadel Banff Professional Theatre Program and the Art Institute of Vancouver. She leads voice and Shakespeare masterclasses at Capilano University in North Vancouver, and has taught public speaking at Vancouver Island University and Leadership Vancouver Island. For the past fifteen years she has provided individual instruction and group workshops to actors, teachers, and business professionals, and she is a regular adjudicator for competitive speech festivals across Western Canada.
