Joan MacLean

After graduating from UVic’s Department of Theatre in 1984, Joan MacLean (BFA '84) performed for 5 years with Jim Leard's Story Theatre Company. She has worked as a professional actor and teacher in Vancouver since 1989, performing with various companies including Arts Club Theatre and Full Figure Theatre. She co-wrote the music for and starred in the musical 39 and Ticking! in 2010 began working in Burnaby as a high school teacher in 2011. Joan now lives with her partner, her children and three cats as she continues to work as a teacher, theatre adjudicator and instructor, private piano teacher and actor.
