A graduate of the UVic acting program in 1991, Ian Case has appeared on many Vancouver Island stages. He is a well-known local director, arts advocate and supporter.

In 1991, he went to work as an administrator, actor and director for Theatre Inconnu's inaugural year of the Victoria Shakespeare Festival (Shakespeare '91). He became Inconnu's General Manager for 5 years. In 1995, Ian co-founded the Victoria Shakespeare Festival's Inner Harbour iteration, which brought together Theatre Inconnu and Island Repertory Company. In 1998, Ian started Giggling Iguana Productions producing three shows in the McPherson Playhouse before moving operations to Craigdarroch Castle, where he produced a successful run of Halloween and spring shows for 15 years. During that time, Ian worked as a contractor for various arts groups as an artists, administrator and consultant. In 2003, Ian became the General Manager for Intrepid Theatre where he worked for 10 years where he and the Intrepid team created the Metro Studio, Intrepid Theatre Club while producing the Victoria Fringe Festival, Uno Fest and various other festivals.

Ian is currently the Director of the Farquhar Auditorium and Ceremonies and Events at UVic. He is currently costuming Shockheaded Peter for Theatre Inconnu and will direct Mother Courage for William Head on Stage (his fifth show there) in 2017. Ian is married to his ever-supportive wife and love. They have two daughters, both talented artists in their own right.
