BFA'13

Jennifer Taylor graduated from the department with a specialization in theatre history in 2013 and has recently been awarded a Master's Degree in Shakespearean Studies from King's College London, in partnership with Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.

While completing this twelve-month program, Jennifer was selected for a highly prestigious internship at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. During this internship she completed historical research for the production teams, interviewed actors and audience members for the Globe Archives, and participated in Globe Education events such as the Deutsche Bank Student Productions, Research in Action Workshops, and Read Not Dead rare play readings. Her proudest moment was seeing her research in medieval heraldry visually presented on stage in the Globe's production of Richard II.

She was thrilled to complete her dissertation on the application of early modern medical science and humoural theory to the reading and performing of Shakespeare in August of 2015, and has since returned to her hometown of Calgary. Jennifer is currently working as a consulting dramaturg for playwrights in Calgary, but her long-term career goals include working at the Stratford Festival and founding her own west-coast theatre festival.

In addition to graduating from the Phoenix with a BA Honours in Theatre History, Jennifer also played the role of Violet in the world premier of Daniel McIvor's "Inside."
