Mathew Lees

After graduating from the theatre department in 1990, Matthew Lees (BFA '90) began his career as a freelance technician from 1990-1997, working with companies such as Christie Lites Vancouver, Judith Marcusse Dance co., Artsclub, Presentation House, Surrey Arts Centre (where he was Head Electrician from 1993-1997), and the Vancouver Fringe Festival from 1990-1996. Matthew also worked as a production manager at the Vancouver Fringe Fest in 1995 and 1996, Kids Fest, the Vancouver Folk Fest and many more events.

He took a full time position with Christie Lites Vancouver in 1997, which turned into Director of Human Resources until 2007. Later, Matthew joined Riggit Services as Human Resources Manager until 2015 when he was made General Manager of Riggit.

Lighting design credits include: Theatre Under the Stars, Pacific Theatre and Westsun Lighting (Run for your Wife at The Orpheum). He also currently volunteers as technical theatre support for Riverside Senior Secondary School in Port Coquitlam.
