Brandon Wright

Brandon combined his love of boating with his passion for electronics and founded Barnacle Systems. Their flagship product, BRNKL, is for boaters who need to check in on their vessel from their smartphone, tablet or computer whether they’re at the dock, at home or halfway around the world.

Within one year of being founded, Barnacle Systems was announced as VIATEC’s “Startup of the Year” and has been rapidly gaining traction in the marine industry.

My education at UVic not only gave me a foundation in Engineering, but also provided my with the problem-solving skills relevant to starting a business.
