ABSTRACT

Abstract:

Spreading Sequences for Direct Sequence Code Division Multiple Access (DS/CDMA) systems are chosen according to several design criteria. The most common criteria are: minimization of the autocorrelation, minimization of the crosscorrelation function and maximization of the system throughput under certain Quality of Service constraints on the specific users.

The first part of this seminar will be dedicated to the review of the first two criteria and the sequences which have been designed to satisfy them. The second part of the presentation will deal with more modern design criteria of throughput maximization. The sequence design under equal and different received power constraints will be discussed. The issue of power control at the transmitter will also be adressed.
