ABSTRACT

An Integrated Automated control simulation of a mechatronic system is software that allows building system control independently from the mechanical and electronic hardware. One approach towards this type of simulation is to simulate all the mechanical processes that define the system on a virtualized model. Automated control is embedded within at those points where the process model simulates actuator activity or sensory input. Scene Graphs and Petri Nets provide the computing platform necessary to achieve integrated automated control simulations.
