Summary:

The Activity and Event Network (AEN) model is a system for capturing network activities and events through a dynamic graph. To make this graph manageable, an extension introduces a timeline feature, enabling security analysts to focus on specific graph segments. This is achieved through a graph paging mechanism that divides the graph into pages for navigation and memory construction while maintaining the order of changes. Experimental testing using the CIC 2017 IDS evaluation dataset confirmed improved graph visualization and management with lower overhead in terms of response time, CPU usage, and memory consumption.
