Summary: Bioprosthetic heart valves are routinely implanted to replace defective native heart valves. The quality of the implanted valve has a direct impact on the patient’s quality of life. It is critically important to ensure optimal characteristics of a prosthetic valve before its implantation in the human body. In this seminar I will present novel computer vision-based techniques for performance evaluation of the heart valves based on available imagery data.
