ABSTRACT

Abstract:

Photocatalytic wastewater treatment is a promising economic green technology which can degrade wastewater’s organic and ammonia pollutants, which produce environmentally sensitive products like CO2, H2O and Nitrates etc. that can be captured and used in many biological and engineering ways. Cleaning the photocatalytic Fe-TiO2 nanocrystals by acid treatment was one of the revolutionary improvements that exposes and maximizes the active surface of the photocatalytic nanocrystals to the pollutants resulting in obtaining ~100% clean water. This work is focused on taking recent achievements to the next step in our laboratory by coating Fe-TiO2 crystals onto fiber-glass cloth using a different sol-gel method process. Another concern in my research is to study how to increase photocatalytic efficiency by breaking down and cleaning agglomerates of Fe-TiO2 nanocrystals.
