In Memory - Dr. Karen Kobayashi
It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Dr. Karen Kobayashi of Victoria BC on May 28, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by her loving family and friends.
As a Professor (Department of Sociology) and Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies) for the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Victoria, her passion, dedication and commitment to researching the effects of health and aging, and her generosity to collaborate and give back to the research communities, will remain a legacy for many years to come.
A service for Karen Kobayashi to celebrate her life will take place August 13th at 1 p.m., at Esquimalt Gorge Park Pavilion, 1070 Tillicum Road. A Karen’s Memorial Go-Fund-Me has been established to create a scholarship fund at UVic in Karen’s memory.
