March 8: Lansdowne Lecture: Dr. Robert Hogg

Please join the Anthropology Department as they welcome the 2017 Lansdowne Lecturer, Dr. Robert Hogg, ANTH Alumnus and Senior Research Scientist at the British Columbia Centre for Excellence for HIV/AIDS, and a Professor in the Department of Public Health at Simon Fraser University.  Dr. Hogg will be giving two public lectures on his research and work with HIV.

2017 Lansdowne Lecture: Emergence of HIV in Africa and Beyond

Dr. Robert Hogg will talk about the origins of HIV-1 in Central and West Africa. Several theories will be examined and he will also explain how social change, migration, and population growth helped to spread the epidemic throughout Africa and beyond.
