2015 Anthropology Field School with the Hakai Ancient Landscapes Archaeology Project
During the 2015 field season of the Hakai Ancient Landscapes Archaeology Project, four UVic undergraduate students from the Department of Anthropology's Archaeology Field School joined the research team. These student received hands-on and skill-based training in archaeology field methods and had opportunity to work side-by-side with seasoned professionals. Tasks that they participated in include: shovel testing, auger testing, excavation, site survey, screening, and recording culturally modified trees. The Hakai Institute on Calvert Island helped by housing, feeding, and transporting the student during the field season.
