Dr. Erin McGuire lectures on Vikings at the Royal BC Museum, Thursday May 29

Dr. Erin McGuire, UVic Anthropology is an archaeologist whose special interest is Vikings and specifically their burial practises. This summer she is joining the RBC Museum to teach the Anthropology of Life and Death in the Viking World in conjunction with the RBC’s travelling museum exhibit, Vikings: Lives Beyond the Legends. Students will divide their time between the museum and campus and have the unique opportunity to examine artefacts close at hand, whilst simultaneously studying the published sources describing their original context.
