Canada world leader in nuclear and particle physics research

The Government of Canada requested the Council of Canadian Academies to undertake an assessment of science and technology in Canada. The council appointed an Expert Panel on the State of Science and Technology in Canada, and its report was released in September 2012.

In the report, the panel finds that Canada excels in six general research fields - including Physics and Astronomy. In addition to these general fields, the panel identified "nine sub-fields in which Canada leads the world in scientific impact" - including Nuclear and Particle Physics. A total of 176 sub-fields were studied.

With our active research programs in Nuclear and Particle Physics, VISPA has helped Canada achieve this excellent record in this sub-field.
