2012 Physics World Top 10 physics list includes 2 VISPA projects

Once again, Physics World has included VISPA projects in its top 10 physics breakthroughs in 2012.

The ATLAS experiment is included for its role in discovering a new particle, possibly the Higgs boson, the particle predicted by the Standard Model as a manifestation of the Higgs field that imparts mass to the other fundamental particles of the Universe. More information about ATLAS and the role that VISPA plays is found here.

The BABAR experiment is also included in the list, for being the first experiment to directly observe time-reversal violation in a quantum-mechanical system. More information about BaBar and VISPA is found here.

In 2011, Physics World included another VISPA project, T2K experiment, in the top 10 physics breakthroughs.
