The University of Victoria’s Arbutus Cloud, managed by Research Computing Services, revolutionizes data processing, sharing, and storage with speeds far surpassing desktop computers. It supports over 1,000 Canadian research teams and millions globally.
On June 3, federal and provincial governments highlighted its importance with substantial funding: $10.28 million from the Digital Research Alliance of Canada and up to $6.14 million from British Columbia.
