The Andromeda dwarf galaxy puzzle

A surprising discovery about the dwarf galaxies which orbit the much larger Andromeda galaxy is puzzling scientists as it challenges currently held ideas regarding the behaviour of satellite galaxies.  Two UVic Scientists, Dr. Julio Navarro and Dr. Alan McConnachie are part of an international team of astronomers who reported this discovery recently in a paper in the prestigious journal Nature.  Learn more about this puzzling discovery!
