Partnership brings seismometers to classrooms

How would you like to help BC communities better prepare for 'the Big One' and support science education in local schools?

SchoolShake is a first-of-its kind outreach and citizen science program for Vancouver Island. A network of miniaturized seismometers will be placed in elementary and high schools and incorporated into the curriculum as tool to learn about earthquakes and tectonics. Researchers will use this new data to help communities better prepare for earthquakes.

The University of Victoria and Natural Resources Canada are leading this exciting new project.

We need your help! Your gift will enable SchoolShake to purchase seismometers and get more schools involved, teaching kids about geoscience and making our communities safer.
