UVic biologists contributes to study on mass coral bleaching in the Anthropocene

Biology professor Julia Baum and PhD student Danielle Claar contributed to a paper published in Science on the mass bleaching of corals around the world, finding that the average interval between bleaching events has reduced by more than half. 

The study made news across the world. Baum has been interviewed by National Geographic, The Globe and Mail, Pacific Standard Magazine, Newsweek, Oceans Deeply and E&E News.
