CUPE 4163 (COMPONENT 3) SESSIONAL LECTURERS

Expressions of interest are invited for a sessional assignment for the following Winter Session 2023-24 courses.


January 08 – April 08, 2024

BIOL466 Frontiers in Marine Biology (3-0-0) (1.5 units total)  M,R   1:00-2:30pm

Explores new advances in topics related to ocean biology, focussing on ocean change and responses in biological systems. Topics range from novel approaches to ocean discovery both in theory and in the field, to the role of humans in ocean change and mitigation. Content is based in ocean processes and ecological interactions ranging from microbes to ecosystem and from coasts to the deep sea.

Prerequisites:  one of BIOL311/EOS311 - Biological Oceanography, BIOL319-Marine Ecology

Pre- or corequisites: BIOL330 – Study Design and Data Analysis

Anticipated enrollment:  26 students, maximum 26

 

Note:  All sessional positions are subject to meeting minimum enrollment requirements.

Salary is subject to the Cupe4163- Component 3 collective agreement and is based on years of lecturing experience at a post-secondary institution. More information can be found on the UVic Human Resources website  www.uvic.ca/hr/services/home/labour-relations/index.php
