Saanich choir Christmas concert gives a voice to dementia sufferers

The Voices in Motion Choir held their Winter Concerts to facilitate socialization, cognitive function, meaningfulness, and a multigenerational appreciation for adults experiencing memory loss, their family members, care partners, caregivers, young people, and members of the community. The Voices in Motion project began in 2017 as an interdisciplinary research project at the University of Victoria with IALH Research Fellows Dr. Debra Sheets (Nursing) and Dr. Stuart MacDonald (Psychology), IALH Research Affiliate Dr. André Smith (Sociology), IALH External Affilate Dr. Carl Asche (Economics) at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, and Dr. Mary Kennedy (Music) at the University of Victoria.
