Congratulations to IALH Research Fellow Nancy Clark (UVic Nursing) on receiving one of twenty-three Michael Smith Health Research BC 2023 Scholar Awards for her project Promoting Integrated Mental Health Care Services and Supports for Refugees in BC. The Scholar Program supports early-career health researchers who are building leading-edge health research programs and expanding their potential to make significant contributions to their field.

Congratulations to IALH Postdoctoral Fellows lfeoluwa (Hiphy) Awogbindin (Division of Medical Sciences) and Tyrone Curtis (School of Public Health and Social Policy) on receiving Michael Smith Health Research BC 2023 Trainee Awards. Hiphy's project is entitled The Impact of SARS-CoV-2 Infection/COVID-19 and Microglial Contribution on the Development and Severity of Parkinson’s Disease. Tyrone's project is entitled HIV Prevention for Underserved Men Who Have Sex With Men: A Community-Based Mixed Methods Exploration of Access Needs and Preferences.
