South Tower residence opens

Planning Manager Betsy Moyer shows off one of the 22 suites earmarked for graduate and mature students in UVic’s newest student residence building, the South Tower, which opened on schedule this month. The 106-bed facility is helping to meet the high demand for residence accommodation and is already fully occupied. Each suite features an open plan bedroom/dining and study area plus private bathroom and kitchenette. The remaining 84 beds in the building are dormitory-style. Located east of the Cadboro Commons Building, the South Tower is targeted to achieve gold-level certification in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating Standards program.
