Congrats to UVic Law alum appointed QC

Congratulations to UVic Law alumni Daniel Burnett (’86), Geoffrey Moyse (’89) and Angela Westmacott (’88), who have been appointed Queen's Counsel by Attorney General and Minister of Justice Suzanne Anton. 

Burnett is a Shareholder at Owen Bird Law Corporation and heads the firm’s Media Law Practice Group.  Moyse is the acting deputy Attorney General with the Legal Services Branch in the Ministry of Justice and is a recognized expert in Aboriginal Law in Canada.  Westmacott is a partner with Lovett & Westmacott and practices in the areas of administrative, constitutional and human rights law. 

The Queen's Counsel designation "is an honour conferred on members of the legal profession to recognize exceptional merit and contribution." UVic Law alumni are part of a group of 32 BC lawyers to receive the honour this year. Congratulations to all recipients.
