The global refugee crisis: Local, national and international responses

Powerful and tragic images of refugees fleeing by boat, washing up on the beaches of Turkey and Greece, and demonstrating in European cities have called attention to a global refugee crisis that has been years in the making. This panel brings together participants from the Uvic community to discuss the ongoing refugee crisis, and how to understand the response at the local, national, and international level.

The panelists are as follows: J. Donald C. Galloway, Dr. Scott Watson, Dr. Amy Verdun, Dr. Sabine Lehr, Mr. Almontaser Aidhy, and Mr. Maher Boidany. Dr. Feng Xu will be the moderator.

This talk will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd, at 7pm in room A120 of the David Turpin Building (DTB).
