Co-directors of European Studies appointed!

Associate Professor Charlotte Schallié and Professor Emmanuel Brunet-Jailly have been appointed as co-directors of European Studies for the next two years, July 2014-2016.

As former director of the program and a Jean Monnet Chair, Dr.Brunet-Jailly brings considerable experience to the position and will direct the EU research at UVic. He will be joined as directors by Dr. Schallié from the Department of Germanic and Slavic studies. Dr. Schallié will bring her emphasis on experiential learning, demonstrated by her experiences with European field schools and other community engaged language programming, to her position directing the EUS academic program. Together, the two aim to re-build, re-focus and re-energize the European Studies program and enhance the interdisciplinary program.
