Saddlemeyer

Emeritus Professor Ann Saddlemeyer delivered a spellbinding lecture on the 150th anniversary of W. B. Yeats’ birth on 24 September in the UVic Library’s Special Collections. The room was packed and Dr. Saddlemeyer delivered. Her account of Yeats’ collaborative practice and repeated references to the excellent exhibition of Yeats-related materials on now in the Maltwood Gallery were music to the crowd’s ears. The event highlighted the large amount of rare and unique material Dr. Saddlemeyer has donated to UVic’s Special Collections recently, and established yet again that she is among the best and most erudite speakers on the topics of modernism and Irish literature.
