With COVID-19 and upcoming elections, is climate success possible?

Join the Environmental Studies seminar talk “Designing policies for climate success: Economics, politics, and COVID-19” presented by UVic’s Assistant Professor Katya Rhodes from the School of Public Administration and Institute for Integrated Energy Systems on Wednesday, October 21, at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. In this talk, Dr. Katya Rhodes will speak on how we can do a better job with the global challenge of deep decarbonisation. She will explain why global climate action is so difficult and what citizens and policy-makers can do to address climate change. Dr. Rhodes will use case studies from British Columbia and California to demonstrate examples of effective and politically acceptable climate policies and actions. She will also discuss how climate efforts fit into post-COVID recovery and upcoming elections. Join Dr. Rhodes to discuss a path forward to climate success.
