More than 2,000 scientists, academics and researchers from around the world have signed an open letter calling for the creation of a Fossil Fuel Non-Proliferation Treaty. Heather Castleden, UVic's Impact Chair in Transformative Governance for Planetary Health, outlines the urgent need to move away from fossil fuels and explains what this treaty will mean for Indigenous land governance in Canada.
