Petch Shared Research Facilities Renovation

Facilities Management and Aral Construction (2014) Ltd. are undertaking a project that will renovate the rooms 026 to 031 into a shared, BSL2 and BSL2+ laboratory space. In support of this work, Aral Construction will need to perform a 1-hour shutdown of the building‘s primary electrical power.
This shutdown will have two effects:
- All emergency power circuits (emergency lighting and red outlets) will shutdown for a few seconds while the generator comes online and again when emergency power is restored at the end of the shutdown.
- All other circuits and lighting will be down for the full one-hour duration.
All computers and sensitive electrical equipment should be shutdown the night before to avoid damage from an abrupt loss of power. Phones do not need to be disconnected.
Fume hoods and vented cabinet cannot be assumed to be served by emergency power and should remain shut to avoid any potential loss of containment.
